Simon's work is about many things but paramount is the attempt to make things well and respond genuinely to the particular requirements of each client and site. Much of his best work has been achieved on very low budgets. Increasingly Simon's projects are also driven by issues of sustainability and energy efficiency. Current projects incorporate the latest developments in solar heating, photovoltaics, water harvesting and recycling, geothermal and wind power.

Simon has undertaken a wide range of work in the community, residential and workplace sectors. Simon's early work was dominated by conversion projects, many of which involved buildings of historic interest, for individual clients as well as housing associations and property developers.

Since then the range and scale of Simon’s work has grown considerably and now includes new build projects on urban and rural sites, interior design for a variety of uses and ranging in scale from 60 to 15000 square metres, exhibitions, furniture and product design.
